Stupid question about LORs

Ok, so I've read that letters of recommendation should always be sent directly to the school your applying to. What if you're not applying to any schools yet? Lets say for example that I'm a junior and ask my bio prof to write me a lor. Where would he send it to? Who would hold on to it for the next few years until I started applying to medschools? And who would duplicate the letter so it could be sent out to multiple schools?

do you have a pre-med office? The office usually hold all your recs until they are ready to be sent to med schools. Oh, and they make copies of the recs for you, so you jsut need to give the pre-med office one, original copy.

If you don't have a pre-med office, use Interfolio.

Interfolio is a sevice that hold your LORs for you and then sends them to Med Schools when you apply. You can search the old threads... I remember seeing other sdners talking about Interfolio.
