Submit AADSAS before or after taking DAT-opinions wanted

Ok so here's the deal.

I have written my personal statement filled out most of AADSAS but have yet to take the DATs. My prehealth commitee says that I should wait and take the DATs before I submit so i can narrow down what schools to apply to. Is this a good idea if I plan on taking the DAT in a month? Also the stupid committee has not written my LOR yet and is waiting until after I submit my AADSAS to do so.

I go to BU, have a 3.4 GPA, and a 3.3 Science GPA. I plan on applying to NYU, BU, Tufts, Uconn, Buffalo, and maybe UDMNJ.

What would you do?

if i were you i would submit the aadsas whenever.... but as long as you get it in before say, july 1, you probably arent doing your applciation any damage.

Don't worry about the DAT just send is your application as early as you can. As long as you're ready for the DAT you should be fine.

i suggest submitting it now. aadsas will take much longer to get your application to the dental schools compared to the time ADA takes to send out your DAT scores.

aadsas will first verify your gpa, then it will take its sweet time mailing your file. by then you can take the DAT, send them out, and they would probably arrive before the rest of the app. also, you can update the aadsas application with the scores as soon as you take the test.

submit aadsas first cause it takes them longer than they say it does to process the apps...last yr i submitted in july and it took 8 weeks

Do not wait. If your app is ready, send it. Waiting for the DAT is a bad strategy. In all likelihood, depending upon when you take the DAT, your DAT scores will likely get to schools before your AADSAS application.

Keep on your committee to get your LOR in.
