I have the opportunity to do research abroad from May 16th - June 26th but would like to submit my app on June 4th when it opens. If I get my AMCAS filled out, transcripts sent, and letters of rec uploaded to Interfolio before leaving, would I be fine just logging on when the app opens and pushing submit while abroad? I will also only have intermittent internet access at this time but should be able to get on in early June. Are there any problems I might run into that I should be concerned about that I'm not taking into consideration? Does this sound too risky? Or should this work okay?

Thanks!

I'm active duty military. I submitted my AMCAS and secondaries from Republic of Korea. As long as you have a US address to give them it should be fine.

By the time you receive secondaries you will probably be back in the states anyway.

No problems at all. Check the verification thread from last year to find out how long verification took if you didn't submit in the first day to get an idea of when you will be verified.

I agree that you should be fine. Also try to find out when AMCAS will be released to schools this year. Last year I submitted on 6/5 and was verified on 6/7, but the data wasn't transmitted to any medical schools until 6/29, so anyone who was verified by 6/28 was "early."

These dates sometimes change, so find out what it will be for this summer's cycle and submit with enough time to get verified before data transmission day.
