Hi,

I know i'm already applying late. I just found out that my instructor put in the wrong grade (i'm actually getting a higher grade) for a class that i took this summer. He just filed the change-of-grade form required by my university. For this reason my AACOMAS app is on hold. I already paid the primary fee and everything. Should i wait for the new grade to come out, or just send the transcript with a lower grade to process my apps and change it later?

I'd appreally appreciate your help.

That depends on several things. How low was the grade, and what class was it? If it's a required science class and the grade was listed as a "C" instead of an "A", then definitely wait. Also consider how long it takes your university to process the change. It really can't take that long can it? I guess I don't know how long it takes for AACOMAS to process changes in a transcript. If it's anything like their initial processing, it will take awhile so you might be adding on a few weeks by relying on them to change it instead of waiting for your school.

If it was me, I would probably wait. Honestly, you aren't late in applying by any means. You should probably figure out how long it will take to make the change go through and then take it from there. Try contacting the registrar's office to see it through. Let them know (nicely) that you are on a time frame.

thanks for letting me know that it's not too late. The grade is a C to a B. My school said it takes about 60 DAYS to fix the whole thing!

Try to bug your school and email some deans or assistant deans or something. This is bull**** and I'm getting pissed off thinking about it because it brings to memory a situation with the psych department at PSU that shafted me this entire year which will prob make me forfeit my psych minor before graduation 🙁 I hate the bureaucracy at colleges...it's all bull****.

My advice, if possible is to bug the **** out of your school until they change it!

All I can say is that my stats fall around the mediocre range that's why i can't afford a C in my transcript. It's a Bio class. I'm pretty much bugging my professor through emails because it's difficult to get a hold of him. I don't know what circumstance he is in either but he told me that he already filled out the form on Monday--called the office today and they told me that nothing was filed!..so i emailed him again *sigh*. 😡

wow that's a really sh*tty situation, sorry! that's the last thing anyone needs...applying is stressful enough. have you contacted aacomas to see how long a transcript change would take?

another option would be to get the aacomas process rolling, then send a revised transcript to your schools with the changed grade around the same time that aacomas sends your ap. aacomas took around 6 weeks to process mine (although I didn't apply until end of December, so it will probably take less time this early!), so the grade change might go through right around the time they get done. There were a few things I changed on my file after the schools received it. It was a considerable amount of time between my initial ap and the secondary, a lot can change in a month or two so changes like that are probably pretty common.

your best bet is to probably just keep bugging the offices until it gets done.

Thats a real **** sandwich, but my advice to you is to get your application in with speed. You never know how long it is going to take for AACOMAS to get your app. out to your designated schools. You can always update your application later on.

Thanks, that is what a lot of people i've been talking to is saying. So i'm just sent the transcript with that grade and will have it changed later. Thanks for all your help 😍
