I am the current applicant here, I was behind on writing my primary, and still need to finished my about 7-8 of my secondary. I am wondering does anyone here submit there secondary around December last year and still receive interview? I am wondering whether it's still worth it to write the essays.

This belongs in the pre-allo forums, not in the allo forums. But to answer your question, sure I hear about people who do get interviews when applying this late, but the majority don't, and if you are interviewing, it will be for a low spot on the waitlists. Ive heard more stories about people with fantastic GPAs and amazing MCATs who were simply rejected because of timing.

I disagree. Who better to ask than students that have already matriculated into med school? Maybe one of them submitted in Dec. or (later?:scared: ) received interviews and ultimately an acceptance and can give first person testimony to the fact , than the speculatory, conjectural and anedoctal statements that seem to overwhelm the pre-allo site (note: which your post is a prime example...no offense). To the OP, I hope you get an answer to your question from a legit source.

Yeah, I agree with you somewhat...Current medical students are a good source to ask, but that's really not the purpose of the Allo forum. The purpose is to address topics that -we-, as allopathic students (not premeds) experience. There are plenty of allo students who frequent the pre-allo forum, so his question could be answered there Personally, I'd hate to see this forum cluttered with 20 gabillion threads like "Which school should I attend: HARVARD vs. University of ABC??" or "my interview sucked, should i write a letter", or anything of the pre-med nature.

I don't have exact dates anymore, but I'm pretty sure none of my applications were complete (AMCAS + secondary + LORs) before late December/early January. (If memory serves, my secondaries were in sooner but not my LORs.) I still got interviews and acceptances. My experience may not be normative, but if you've already paid all the $$ for AMCAS, why not finish at least some of the secondaries?
