how can you check to see if all of your transcripts have been received (other than wait for an email from AMCAS?

when you log in to amcas, the welcome screen has this info

Really? I had the same question but mistakenly posted in the mcat forum (spending tooooo much time there!). I have never seen anything about my transcript status on the welcome page, but I have received an email stating that they've received transcripts from one of my schools.

What's up with that?

Same here

.

Does the same go for Texas Application Service?

Same here, too. Just emails, no dynamic welcome screen.

I think they probably mean after you are processed. My friend applied last application cycle and I saw his welcome screen, which showed list of schools he applied and the dates transmitted and stuff like that...

Ah that would make sense. I was wondering why I have just a boring old bland welcome screen!

I remembered things were through email, like when transcripts from certain schools have arrived or when they've finished processing your app.

i just wanted to give you all a heads up: if you have any doubt about whether or not amcas has received your transcript, send another one! Last year, i sent mine mid May, and come mid june, after submitting my amcas, i got the 'on hold because supporting docs are missing' message! I didn't know that i would be sent an email confirming the receipt of my transcript, so i had no idea that it hadn't been received. I called amcas several times and was given the run araound each time. (Try to avoid ever calling amcas if at all possible) Moral of the story: transcripts get lost. Amcas blamed the postal service, but i blamed amcas. it's impossible that they don't lose transcripts when they receive tens of thousands of them. I ended up having to send a second transcript. As a result, the processing of my application was delayed a few weeks.

Just a question to those who submitted a transcript request. How long did it take for you to get an email that they received it from the time you sent the transcript request?

I sent my school request in about a week ago (rush service + overnight delivery), so AMCAS should have at least gotten it in the mailbox by now. But no email yet ...

Have you submitted your app? I received emails as early as the beginning of May about transcripts being received, but I never saw any updated status on the welcome page until after I had paid AMCAS their money and sent the app... Once you send the app, your updated status should appear immediately.

I think it depends on where your school is mailing from and also how early in the process you sent it. Just to give you an example, I recieved a confirmation email in less than 24 hours after I sent Duke (NC) a transcript request in the beginning of May, but it took 12 days to receive a confirmation after I gave UCLA (CA) a transcript request in the 3rd week of May.

ok one more thing, when i filled out my transcript request form at my school, i attached the amcas transcript request sheet, which specifically gives the address to send it to (w/ the PO box # etc..)

however, my school sent it (on May28th) to this address (which is different)..have NO idea whyt they did this:
AMCAS, ATTN: TRANSCRIPTS
AAMC, ASSN. OF AMERICAN MEDICAL COLLEGES
MEDICAL SCHOOL APPLICATION SERVICES
2450 N ST. NW
WASHINGTON, DC U.S.A. 20037-1300

am i in trouble ? is the transcript lost? b/c i dont want to pay for another transcript when it was the schools fault for sending it there..i NEVER gave them that address!

I had this problem last year even though I had sent my transcripts in fairly early. Call them and politely explain that you've sent them in and the web says otherwise. They usually have them for quite a while before they get around to finding them and associating them with your file. Or send an email but bug them as politely and as often as you can. The squeky wheel gets the greece. My turned up the same day I called them last year.
