I wasn't planning on applying this cycle since I thought I could do better on the MCAT, but I figured that I did get a lot of clinical experiences in my gap year and realized a lot of my flaws in writing in my previous cycle, so I am giving it a shot this cycle. Was verified early last week and submitted all my secondaries late last week (prewrote during the week it took for my primary to get verified). Realistically, do I have a shot at MD if I am this late? I am still preparing for a retake of my MCAT.

Stats:
MCAT: 495- 509
GPA: 3.6 overall. 3.4 BCPM. 3.9 non-science but strong trend (freshman year, I dropped the ball, but I improved significantly after that)

Applied to around 20 schools and finished all of them (can't really add more due to expenses, and I feel like it's already too late). Waiting on 2-3 schools that are doing the preliminary review, but I pre-wrote all those schools as well. I applied to DO as well in case I don't get in.

He did, turned down multiple DO A's. Don't know why you would apply to them again in that case. Your stats are not competitive for MD, but you have decent ECs and received II's from MD before, so you probably would have again, but now I cannot say with how late it was into the cycle. At this point what is done is done, so now you just have to wait.

Chances best at FL schools and service-focused schools like Loyola or Rush. Don't bother retaking the MCAT a 4th time and accept a DO's offer if that is your only acceptance.

Ngl turning down DO As makes you DOA for almost all of them since many ask if you had acceptances at other schools, not to mention you're a reapplicant

Have you taken CASPER or PREview? If not, I wouldn't apply to certain schools like TCU, Rush, SLU etc. which require one of those exams.

I can't fathom turning down a DO A for a shot at MD, being an ORM from FL as well. With your stats, your best bet will likely be schools like FSU, FIU, and Nova
