So I am receiving a LOR from my PI for my SIP from these past few months, and I am not sure how to submit this to schools. I am almost done with secondaries (have ~6 left out of 23) and have fulfilled the LOR requirements at all of the schools with the letters I have already received. What is the best way to get this new letter to the schools I have applied to? Should I have my PI submit it to AMCAS and just send it through my AMCAS account or should I make an Interfolio account and have it put in there and then send it to AMCAS or individual schools? Or is the best option for him to just snail mail it to the schools?

The fastest way would be to send it to AMCAS. If you designate for it to be sent to all of the schools you applied to, it should get there within a couple days. It will then be looked at as a normal part of your file for any schools that haven't reviewed your completed application yet (which will include the 6 you have left and any that you may have completed recently that haven't yet been reviewed). For schools that have already reviewed your application, I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done. You'll need to get advice on that from someone else.

I had a very similar question...would it be worthwhile to submit this letter to schools in the fall after you're complete? I feel like I'll have a good letter from my current position that's probably better than most in my premed committee packet, but I've already done most of my secondaries (even though the committee packet hasn't been sent out yet, will happen in a couple days). The problem is the committee letter generally combines all of the recs into a cohesive narrative, so one lone strangler letter would have to be separate.

So, anyway, do people generally send in letters from positive summer experiences the year they're applying?
