I'm taking the September 10th MCAT and I was wondering if there was any advantage to submitting my application now versus waiting until August or September because they will be waiting for my MCAT scores anyway. I'm applying to both D.O. and M.D. schools if that matters.

I am in the same situation. The advice I got from medical students was to to submit your primary ASAP. Just apply to one school on your application so you don't waste money unnecessarily. It takes 4-6 weeks for your primary to get verified so it should be ready when your MCAT score comes out. When I spoke to the adcom at my top school, they told me that they don't look at applications till everything is in.

I would say make sure you write a great PS and turn in your primary by the first week of August (DO NOT WAIT until September to turn in your primary).

Thanks so much, are you applying to both D.O. and M.D. schools?
