submitting ERAS - covid timeline question

With the new ERAS timeline this year, it says that applicants may begin submitting applications on 9/1, but residency programs will not receive/begin reviewing applications until 10/21 (when MSPEs are released). Is there any benefit to submitting in September if programs can't review until 10/21?

All apps submitted before 10/21 will be labeled the same when PDs view them! That said, submitting a bit earlier than 10/21 will prevent you from dealing with possible technology issues that may occur the last couple days before the 10/21 deadline.
