So i asked my anatomy professor for a LOR, she said yes!!! 😛 anyways, she suggested that we use Interfolio, I have heard great things about this but I have never submitted a LOR anywhere and i have some questions.

1. From what I understand, once my professors upload their letters, I will receive notification on my interfolio account. Then it is up to me to "pull the trigger" and the letters will be mailed. My question is, would I mail them to AADSAS or the schools directly? on the AADSAS site it says that they accept interfolio letters, and then they mail them to schools. What is the difference between sending the letters to interfolio - AADSAS - School and Interfolio - school.

2. What would happen if I do not get accepted this year? would all those letter be lost if i tried to apply next year?

3. Do AADSAS or Interfolio make several copies of the letters I send to them and send me one back? in case I reapply?

4. Which schools do not work with interfolio or electronically submitted LORs? I understand that I could send paper copies through interfolio, would they accept those? thanks guys

You can treat Interfolio as your school career service center. When you apply you will have to go online and request Interfolio to send your letters to AADSAS and from there AADSAS will forward the letters to all of the school you're applying to.

When you apply you already paid for AADSAS so it is their job to send out those letters for you. If you request Interfolio to send it out to various schools for you they will charge you based on the number of schools. Each time you mail out the letter(s) they will charge you $6 for mailing and $4 for electronic copy.

Interfolio will keep all of your info up to 5 years, so if your account expires you can always reopen it and all of your LORs will be there.

I believe all schools should accept letters from Interfolio, because again, it is just like your school's career center. Dont forget to waive your right to reading the letters and print that out for your professors to attach it to the letter when they mail out the LORs to Interfolio.

I hope that helps 🙂

So interfolio is not totally necessary, but the fact that they can keep your letters for five years is a big plus as opposed to losing them.

Also, when submitting the letters via interfolio, do i skip the evaluator section of the AADSAS application? if i fill all that out would that request another letter from my professors? I understand that when we apply there is a section to include the information of out evaluators.
