Asking for a friend-

So I've almost completed my primary application but my health advisor told me that not having any letters submitted through AACOMAS will negatively affect my chances of getting secondaries.
However, I won't have my DO letter until the end of the summer (around July) and she has access to the rest of my letters and committee letters and won't submit them until I receive my DO letter. Should I just forget about the letters now and create an Interfolio acccount to submit them later or should I send an electronic request (and wait another two months) to my health advisor for her to upload all the letters?

Will it look bad if I submit to AACOMAS without any letters?
Will AACOMAS hold sending my application to the schools if there is a pending evaluation request?
Should I just have my health advisor send my letters to Interfolio later?
AHHh!!

I can't remember exactly how it works, but it sounds like your pre-health advisor is giving you the run-around. Why would it look bad? To get a secondary you just have to meet basic cut-offs (GPA and MCAT) if the school has them. You will probably get a secondary from every DO school that you/your friend applied to if you have >3.3 GPA and >508ish MCAT (don't really know the new MCAT scale). If i were you, I would submit my primary ASAP as it takes a while to get verified and then add the DO letter ASAP (and tell her to submit the other letters as well). I don't think many schools even start downloading batches of AACOMAS apps until later in the summer but could be wrong.

Schools don't comb over every aspect of an application to send out a secondary. My school didn't even send my committee letter to AACOMAS until like mid-September and that didn't affect my secondaries at all

From my understanding, your letters aren't even going to be seen until you submit a secondary.

I think your adviser has been... wait for it... ill-advised

I did not submit any letters through AACOMAS and had no problems during my cycle.

My school sent all letters through VirtualEval and every school received them.

Your school is lying. They can just upload all your letters without a DO letter now. However, every school has a different policy when it comes to uploading letters.
