How are we supposed to format the personal statement on AMCAS? Specifically, how do we separate paragraphs? Do I put a few spaces at the start of each one to indent it? Or do I just hit ENTER a couple times?

I just put a space between each paragraph, did not try to indent.

It says in the help guide that you can't indent and that you are supposed to just enter between the paragraphs.

You are supposed to push 'enter' twice between a paragraph, right?.. resulting in one full solid line with no text?

Don't worry, after you are "done" (don't submit yet) you will be able to see the PS as a full page instead of in those tiny boxes. If you don't like the way it looks you can edit it.

well, i sent out mine already, but i just hit enter once. meaning no space, just a new line. apparently that is not what most ppl did? aw well lol. if thats what gets me kicked from med school, then i dont deserve to get in i guess

As long as the last lines of your paragraphs weren't all the way over by the right side of the page, so it doesn't look like one big mass of text without paragraphs, then I think all is ok. It won't look pretty, but I really doubt something like this will keep you out of med school if the rest of your app is solid.

I doubt you are the first one to do that. PS are probably the last thing most of us add to the application so you get the prompt to submit right after clicking on done, totally unaware that it can be viewed as a full page. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
