Are we tested on them on the OCHEM portion of the DAT?
According to the DAT exam guideline, we are not tested on this material. IS this true?

thank you in advance!

wowowwow!! what is the DAT exam guideline?! where did you find that?! do you have a link?? ive been looking for a list of actual topics we need to know for the longest time and i cant find it !
thats weird that the list says that, i've studied carbs/lipids/and proteins because it said we needed to know it in my kaplan blue book, and ive come across some carbohydrate structures/questions in destroyer so i assumed i needed to know it.
what is this list youre referring to!!

Yes you need to know carbs, aa's and lipids.
From carbs you need to know the D vs L sugar, mutarotation, anomaric carbon and Fisher and Heyworth conformations.
Amino acids you need to know how to assign a charge using pka values and may need to calculate PI

Lipids you need to know the difference between saturated and unsaturated lipids, also it will help to know what triglycerides, phospholipids and sphyngolipids are.
Hope this helps.
