Can we have separate sections for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school specific threads (like how it is in pre-allo)? It would be easier to sort through all the threads.

Much appreciated!

I have PM'd every Mod I have found asking the same thing!

Its annoying...pre allo is separated by year. Doenst matter that there are fewer schools, its a fully separate conversation going on in the different years threads and its just a matter of correctly organizing topics and threads.

hopefully this will get fixed

Agreed. This is getting REALLY frustrating. Especially now, when a good 80% of the threads on Page 1 are for 2013 but occasionally a 2012 will pop up and I'll click on it by mistake.

Same. I keep thinking there's an update on secondaries or statuses only to realize I clicked on a 2011-2012 thread.

Pft, your 2013 threads are crowding my list. 😉

But yes, I must agree. They should be segregated. You all have to agree, though, that the pre-med and med forums on SDN are pretty well-organized compared to the other health professions' forums. I have friends applying to Psych PhD programs so I checked their forum out and was shocked at how messy it was. Talk about sifting through a bunch of random stuff for the thing you want.

Exactly! My heart starts beating hella fast, anticipating news about interviews, and then... "Hey guys is Apartment Complex XYZ located close enough to campus?" 😡

Don't be so needy, medpr.

just kidding.

You guys are crybabies. There aren't two seperate forums because there are only 30ish osteo schools and 170 allo schools (or something like that). Just give it a month and no one will post in the old ones and they will drop off.

Patients. See what I did there?

Am I missing something? Dont they already have this when you click on the "Osteopathic School-Specific Discussions" link. Each School's name is followed by the year the discussion belongs to . For example there is a UMDNJ Discussion Thread 2011-2012 and also a UMDNJ-SOM Discussion Thread 2012 -2013 . If they are labeled by the year, then where is this confusion coming from?
I am not trying to come of as a Know it all but am genuinely confused about what the issue is here.😕

we are asking to have 2011-2012 in a completely dif link than this years so we don't keep clicking them when they pop up at the top of the page

Just read the year. Don't click on 2011-2012.

We're just confused why something that is so easy to implement hasn't been done.

Is it a huge deal? No, of course not. But it would be a very welcome change.

From what I understand, it isn't that easy. It gets asked every year, without fail. Some of the older members will remember how big of a pain it was to get away from the stupid DO WAMC thread. The mods haven't done anything about it so far. And because this is based entirely on just reading the thread title, I highly doubt it is going to change. Plus, everyone who has been through it knows that you have to deal with it for a couple more weeks and then the 2011-2012 will be forgotten about and you won't have to worry. Then you guys can tell this same thing to the next group when they ask. And they can tell the group after when they ask.

This is the cycle.

You make a good point. This is a just a strange transition period where the "old" applicants haven't quite started class yet, and the "new" applicants are just starting to submit secondaries...

I will shut up and be patient 😀

Your moderators for this forum are ShyRem and myself. I'm a 4th year medical student doing audition rotations and applying to residency. Shy is a resident with an extremely busy schedule. The threads in questions were wholly elective to make and did not exist in prior years. They are clearly labeled.

I will speak with Shy and come up with a plan. We hear you.

Thanks Bacchus!

It really would be nice. I'm sure you're busy...but it would be so nice and organized...

Thanks for considering it

Once the 2011-2012 application season is done, we'll lock those threads. Probably in about a month or so.

What do you exactly mean by lock? Many of us applying in the current cycle , use the 2011-2012 threads to read important information by those who may have run into the same issues as us, current students who give out important tidbits on their school, info on best flights/hotels for interviews, etc

Please don't lock it in a way in which the current applicants are no longer able to browse through the 2011-2012 school specific threads.

No one will be able to post. That's all.
