Hi everyone, I'm currently putting together my plans for summer and wanted to know your opinions on what I should do. I'm tossing up between a study abroad experience (Madrid, 1 month) versus a paid job (a company I've worked at for the last two summers) versus research.

To give a bit of background, I'm a sociology major, and I'm currently working on a research project in that department. My pre-req grades are as follows:

Gen Chem I: B
Gen Chem II: B
Cell Bio: A
Currently taking Organic Chem I (A so far).

As far as activities, I'm in my second semester of volunteering at a children's hospital once a week. I'm also a walk guide for my school, I TA two labs per week, and I did a medical mission trip to Honduras last summer. I have around 20 hours of shadowing with more to follow this winter (both family practice and surgery).

I would appreciate any input you guys can give! 🙂

It seems that you are a sophomore. I would seriously begin preparing for the MCAT this summer if I were you. Don't wait until the last minute. All the clinical volunteering and research in the world can't make up for bad MCAT scores. So def fit this into your schedule...
