Hey guys
I'm new to the forums and I just have some questions or your suggestions on applying to dental schools
I'm Health Science Major from Stony Brook and i have an overall 3.1 GPA 2.99 SCI
with a severe upward trend
i went from a 1.6 my first semester to a 3.7 with 19 credits on my last
and my dat scores were 22 -21-21
I've done two semesters (6) Credits of research on Advance Therapeutic Space
300 hours of Comm service in Hospital,
And I'm part of a co ed business fraternity, I've been working full time for the last 2 years as I was paying my own tuition.:/

I'm basically considering any school on the east cost (that will have me)
So is it worth it?

wow with that upward trend and DAT you may have a shot...some east coast schools like BU and NYU have lower average GPAs while still being great schools 😀

i always say its better to try and fail than to not try at all cuz then you will never know but if money is a serious issue then maybe take a year to raise your gpa to the 3.3 range and you'll def get in then

also if you are an URM you have a better chance of getting in

I gotta say Stony Brook is a cheap school but its really harddd, especially the science courses. But ur DAT's are great and u should work a little on ur GPA. i am goin to stony brook right now as well, but i think you should still apply, u have a good chance 🙂
