I sent my application to MSU-CHM in july 2005, and I was placed on hold twice (once in september and once in december) and not awarded a secondary as yet. Are my chances pretty low to get a secondary? Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to get a secondary from that school, like send a letter etc. Please let me know! thanks in advance!

Sorry to say that it does sound a little late. However, I wouldn't give up just yet. I would indeed send a letter asap BRIEFLY explaining that you are still interested, why MSU is your top choice, and that you look forward to completing the secondary and interviewing. Address this to the dean of admissions. Alternatively, you may call, but that maybe more difficult. Some schools allow you to call the secretary and make an appointment to talk in person/over the phone to the dean of admissions.
Good luck. I hope you have other plans too. Unfortunately I was denied an interview from MSU from instate with decent application way back when. In the end, it was definately for the best. Keep your head up, and keep following up with schools to light a fire under their asses.
