Can anyone recommend if a full suit is necessary for an admissions interview? Or does it come across as too formal? If anyone can share their experience from their interview as well, that would be helpful.

I have an admissions interview this Friday:xf: and I feel like wearing a full suit would be slightly uncomfortable. However, I've heard that most prospective interviewees wear the whole suit. Any thoughts? Should I go with what is most comfortable? Or do schools take what you're wearing into account?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Short answer (for men)... wear the suit! In my experience the majority of guys wore suits and I don't think it is too formal at all. At the very least, wear slacks, shirt, and tie.

Suit it up, my friend! Had several interviews and I think I only saw one guy not wear a suit out of all of em! The same was true for the large majority of females at the interviews as well.

Absolutely wear a suit! At the three interviews I have been to everyone was wearing a suit. It may be a little uncomfortable but the interview don't generally last too long. Good luck!!

Wear a suit. It never hurts to be the one that is overdressed in an interview, but I wouldn't risk being the one that is underdressed.

I only saw one guy at my interview that did not have a suit jacket on.

Arizona 110 degrees, wonder if guys are wearing suits here. The business men don't from March to Oct. generally. Good luck to you all.

I would definitely say men and women should both wear suits. I had an interview this past Friday and was shocked to see someone wearing colored jeans and some girls wearing dresses that were sleeveless and not the appropriate dress length for an interview. Some were even wearing very high heels. As for the guys, the majority of them were wearing suits. I agree that it's better to be over dressed than under dressed going into an interview - just make sure it is professional and appropriate for the occasion. Good luck on your upcoming interview(s)!! 👍

whoah interviews are being done ALREADY!? It's only august!

It definitely sounds like wearing a full suit is the standard. Not that I am looking to blend in, but I thought it would be more appropriate to be more natural. I have never been on an admissions interview, so I really appreciate the comments.

A suit it is!

Maybe I should wear my military Class A's. or should i just do the regular suit. What do you think?? 😛
