For me, it's less about the plot and even less about the medicine. It's all about the sarcastic comments that House makes.
 
I don't think House (the person and the show) is charming, funny, or entertaining.
 
I used to really like it, but now I find myself getting bored when I watch it.

And btw House is not supposed funny or charming, he's a d!@# and no one can do anything about since he's a genius, but that what makes it funny.
 
House is an entertaining character to watch. He plays the part brilliantly. You're right, though.. it's really obnoxious how they fight him every time, and then he wins every time.

House is too one-dimensional. His perpetual state of being pissed off, pisses me off.

Funny, most of the comments seem to dislike House in one way or another, and yet the poll shows that 78% of you LIKE House. Perhaps those who like the show don't want to post and admit to it? :laugh:

JK, I watch Scrubs, and a lot of my friends think it's stupid. If they knew the story lines though, I KNOW they'd appreciate it.

To each his own.
 
I could not stand watching more than 10 episodes. I am done with Dr.House.
 
I like House... All those doctor shows people rag on. They made me wanna be a doctor more. I'm also a computer scientist and if there were any comp sci shows I'd watch them haha. But I mean, just take the shows for what their worth.

I was getting kind of bored with it, but after the last 3 episodes of season 5 and beyond I have been hooked. I especially loved the first episode of season 6!
 
Like it? No. Watch it? Yes.

It's one of my watch-and-do-homework-at-the-same-time shows since ridiculous electrical engineering problems are too hard to do without any distraction.

I have a seething hatred for Wilson. Also Cuddy, but mostly Wilson. And House just frustrates me because I love Hugh Laurie's silly accent, and without it he's just..... not the same.
 
I prefer "Medical Investigation". It ran one season, had twenty episodes, and was all about the NIH. It was almost entirely about medicine, which is probably why it only had one season, but I loved that about it. I learned a ton about infectious disease through that show, especially pandemics.

Love it. It's a great show and House IS a complex character...more so than any other character I've seen in TV shows these days. I mean, let's face it, if we're trying to find complex characters, TV isn't your best bet for a searching spot.

However, I also love and relate to both Scrubs and House (and only these two medical shows, actually), because I feel as though the characters are equally as complex, and the stories have great plotlines, are amusing, and actually have EMOTION...something House episodes never do, lol. 😛

Really? The first couple of seasons were really good, but the next few seasons were horrible, so I stopped watching. Is the latest season any good? Should I start watching again?
 
I still watch it, but I do get tired of the same thing happening over and over.

Scrubs is absolutely terrible. Is it really supposed to be a comedy? Because it is not funny to me in the slightest. I used to watch the show, just because everyone else seemed to love it, but I couldn't stand it for too long. It kind of reminds me of Friends (don't ask why I've seen that show... I don't know why), but Friends was actually better (although still not funny in the slightest). I now really only watch three shows on TV: Curb, The Office, and Seinfeld re-runs. So does anyone have any new shows that the recommend (doesn't necessarily have to be medically related).

Friends mid-90s was funny. Definitely jumped the shark by the time 2000 rolled around.

And the guy hating on Scrubs, really? The first two or three seasons were genius!

Shows I'm currently watching on a regular basis:
-30 Rock
-Californication
-this season's Curb Your Enthusiasm were very entertaining (only season I've actually watch though)

And if you have an open mind The Mighty Boosh is fantastic. Series 3 was kinda meh, but the first two series were great. Another English comedy that didn't make it here after two Americanized versions (a la the office): Peep Show. First two series are really funny and its creative how the camera is used, and hence the title.

Its truly not funny to me; I guess I just don't like that type of humor. Shows like Scrubs, Friends, 30 Rock, etc... are just not enjoyable to me.

Yeah, humor is one of those elusive things. I can't imagine a planet where I would think Curb/Seinfeld/the Office were funny, but the overwhelming silliness of Scrubs is something I find hilarious.

But as someone who watches most comedies and goes "huh?" I can relate to your confusion.

On a side note, I usually like British comedies, but one episode of the Green Wing had me perplexed that anyone would be even slightly amused.
 
I loved the first three seasons of House. They were witty, entertaining, and well-written. And the cases were interesting.

Seasons 4 and 5 disappointed me a little bit. I didn't like the direction the show was going in, and the cases weren't quite as interesting, but I still enjoyed them enough to keep watching.

I don't like season 6 at all. Too much drama, not enough humor. And the cases just aren't even that interesting anymore. I stopped watching a few episodes in.
