I'm planning to take Intro Physics at a local 4-year university at home this summer. I've read threads relating to taking summer prerequisites and they seem to say that my MCAT score will speak for the quality/rigor of the summer course. I go to a top-20 college so I don't want to give the impression that I'm taking summer courses away from my institution to get better grades. Is this something I don't need to worry about?

I already talked to my pre-med advisor about it and she said physics is the only course that med schools don't really mind having me take over the summer (as a prerequisite). A little odd but it may be specific to my college. I just want to confirm that taking a pre-requisite over the summer would be weighted equally to the courses I take at my college.

PS I checked the transfer policy and the credits/grades transfer over.

Generally, you're fine as long as you have a reason to be taking it away from your home uni, such as because you are going to spend a semester abroad etc. And yes, physics is less suspicious than other prereqs to take elsewhere (you sound just like a WUSTL student, physics is notoriously less intense than the others). What raises eyebrows is something like a student at a competitive university taking summer organic chemistry at a nearby state school with no apparent reason for needing to do so.
