The summer before med school I had 2 jobs. 1) I delivered pizzas- great money but it's murder on your car. and 2) I got a job at the local community hospital's lab. There I got my feet wet in medical jargon and I learned to draw blood, which is something that a lot of med students never learn anywhere else these days.
The dotcom boom was just happening the summer before I went to med school. I got myself a job temping for a startup. I was thankful everyday that I have med school waiting for me. It paid great, for doing mindless work.
