SUNY Buffalo Intermediate Status

A couple people got waitlisted today, and their status pages reflect that I think. I don't know what this intermediate status means. I did some digging on this forum for last years SUNY buffalo threads and I found that last year "INTERMEDIATE" was a pre-interview category. So needless to say I'm very concerned here, as I already interviewed.
 
Its interesting to note, though, that the news that people have heard today is one of two things: waitlist + accompanying email, or intermediate status page change with no email. No acceptances.

I wonder if this is a bug in the system and intermediate really means accepted :luck:
 
do they notify u buy email for an acceptance or mail?
 
this is soooo confusing. My status page still reads "No Action" as it has since my interview day 😕

This "intermediate" is starting to look like a glitch to me. Buffalo is the only school that hasn't sent acceptances, and I think thats odd.

seriously, that is strange. has anyone called to ask what it's about? I might call to see if I can figure out where I am on the waitlist (it's ranked).

I just called Mr. Rosso...he said that "intermediate" was a computer error and he is going to get it fixed...he told me that I would be receiving a letter in the mail very soon regarding my decision so I don't know if that's good or bad, but he didn't tell me what that decision was! Maybe the status page will be fixed soon though and then I will know.
 
how did you guys check your status at Buffalo? Is it a link in the email?
 
Your application has been reviewed and evaluated by our Committee, and a decision has been made to place your application in our "Intermediate" pool. As the year progresses, and we can further evaluate our applicant pool, "Intermediates" will either move up into our "Invite for Interview" group or down to our "Reject" group.

It will NOT be necessary for you to communicate with us, as we will automatically reevaluate your application at scheduled intervals and compare it to our constantly changing pool. Submission of additional material will NOT impact the decision-making process.

I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

This was from last year correct? If you have already interviewed and have intermediate as your status, it is incorrect according to Mr. Rosso.
 
yeah because I already interviewed so screw that noise.

just got the waitlist email. DONT CARE cuz SUNY UPSTATE acceptance BABY!!!!!! loved upstate.
 
Nevermind..I finally found it!
 
I don't want to be responsible for any giant letdowns. But I think it means we got accepted boys.

Snail mail for acceptances, only two decisions rendered yesterday: waitlist or intermediate (NO ACCEPTANCES) and one is an error. Yesterday should have seen at least a couple acceptances.

Yeah I got the intermediate email yesterday too...however, I havent interviewed! I wonder if it was a glitch overall, or stands true for me. Good luck, you guys!

Nope. I got this email yesterday. I'm assuming it's a hold. I have not interviewed there.
 
Buffalo just changed my status to ACCEPTED!!!! Im from Buffalo and go to the University of Buffalo! Interviewed on 8/29. Second acceptance of the day, and I am so excited!!!! 😀

Did your status page used to say intermediate?
 
No, it never said Intermediate. It said NO ACTION from my interview day until today. No change yesterday, so I was expecting only to find out my sail mail. I guess today is my lucky day!

Just got the waitlist email after hearing nothing yesterday. Only 7 more months of waiting 🙄🙄

I couldn't access my status page either right before they changed my status. It kept saying my amcas number didn't exist. So maybe that's a good sign!
 
yeah thats what mine kept saying, but now the SQL script is broken on the login where you enter your AMCAS number.
 
I think it's fixed now. I can access my status page just fine.
 
I can too. My status has changed to "Non-accept". I can't believe I got rejected, that makes absolutely no sense. That was my best interview by far.
 
So buffalo accepted 1 SDNer? Thats it? Man, what the hell is going on here. I'm actually in disbelief, I seriously had a great interview.
 
I know they tend to waitlist a ton of people initially. I was surprised I wasn't. I heard they don't accept too many people right off the bat. Are you sure your status doesn't mean waitlist?
 
Yes the people that got the wailist email have a status page that reads: "Waitlist"

Non-accept is the polite way to say rejection.
 
Mine also said no status, but it just changed to accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
 
wow i'm a UB student and i interviewed on the very first interview date and i get a non-accept status. thats quite the bs. and i thought my interviews went well.
 
agreed, I feel cheated like we're victims of a clerical error. Also, wasn't the rejection status "Decision Rendered" last year? Not "Non-accept"?
 
If waitlisted, how do we know where we stand on the waitlist?
 
I was interviewed on Jan 16-th, and put on Wait List the next day.
In my e-mail they say I could call the admssions early February to find out where I stay on WL.
Keeping fingers crossed; I loved the school! 🙂
