So i've been accepted to both schools and face a dilemma.
Being from NYC I am naturally drawn to Downstate's Brooklyn setting. However am I wrong to think I should let intangibles like proximity to friends and family affect my decisions? After all, I should go to the school that gives me a better education.
Downstate is renowned for its clinical experience and urban setting. However, i've heard that Buffalo has a better rep, and rep does affect residency placement. Although I know alot of people are against basing decisions on match lists, but Buffalo did match at some good programs at good places, such as John Hopkins, whereas most Downstate students match in New York. This may be because they want to stay in the region.
I was hoping that someone could give me some insight into the pros and cons of each school. If you attend either school, hat convinced you that it was the right school for you?
