I just got a letter from them stating that my application will be put on hold till I provide this semesters grades. My GPA isn't all that low, so it doesn't seem like this semester should be a "make it up" semester🙁 Is this basically a delayed rejection?

Do you understand that question on their secondary about what support system you will have in NY? I still dont get that question, lol.

My friend got that letter last cycle as well. He sent in his transcript and ultimately ended up getting an interview in January or so, I think. I don't really think you are being placed on hold for your GPA reasons. It's probably because you are an out-of-state applicant, so was my friend. Good luck!

They want to know if you have friends or family in NY to support you through your years in med school.

for those who have completed suny downstate...did you all get a letter stating that

"they have received all the necessary documents and fee to complete application...adn that will be notified, in writing, as soon as further action is taken on application OR if the committee needs addtl info...."

just curious b/c I do not know if this seems like putting my application for further consideration or not.

Yeah i got the same letter in the mail about them receiving my app materials and have yet to hear anymore but im not too worried about it. they are a state school and get tons of apps so im sure its just taking awhile to process everything. so hang in there 🙂

I got a similar letter saying that they are waiting for my August 2004 MCAT scores. Seems like they are a little more on the ball this summer/cycle than last in terms of letting you know what's outstanding etc.

when did you submit your application...how longs its been???
you can call to make sure they actually received your secondary...
