SUNY Downstate Interview... Let the other NYC schools know I'm going?

So I've got to schedule my SUNY Downstate interview sometime early in the new year. I've also applied to Einstein, Columbia, Mt. Sinai, and NYMC. I know Einstein wanted us to tell them if we were in the area, but should I ask the other schools? I'm from California, and cross-country flights ain't cheap.

What should I do? I don't want to sound too pushy... Why do they take so long, anyway?
