SUNY Downstate vs EVMS

I have a question on which school I should decide on. I am a NYC resident so Downstate would be good for me since ill be close to family and friends. But EVMS is also a good choice, specially given the fact that its in Virginia Beach. Both schools have great resident matching records. Both schools care about community service, which im interested in. What are the positives and negatives of both schools? Maybe, given that im a NYC resident, should downstate be my #1 choice?

FYI im interested in doing EM/CC residency after, IDK if this extra detail would provide commenters with an extra info on which school I should go into.

For an NY resident this is a no brainer.

Current student at downstate so maybe I’m bias. Feel free to dm if u have any q’s tho
