I was wondering, how many of you finished and submitted all of the medical forms?
(I submitted mine but my checklist is noting that I have to take a "second PPD and Tdap at Student Health." I was wondering how urgent this was, and if it could wait till July without hurting my chances)

Also, how many of you submitted a Letter of Intent/Intrest?
I'm thinking of shooting one over soon

Just got a call from Ilana Levine - she asked me if I was still interested in remaining on the waitlist, then offered me a spot 🙂 I was on the "hold" list so there is still hope for all of you still waiting.

Some of us here have received a phone call asking if we wish to remain on the waitlist and then subsequently received acceptances shortly thereafter. I received a UPS next day air letter on my stoop and my status at downstate changed (giving me the option to pay my deposit). Good luck!

Don't worry about it. They're not going to take away your acceptance if you don't pick up your phone. The admissions office left me a message and I called them back around 5:45 PM since I also work until 5 every day. The admissions office was still open so you can always call when you get out of work.

So just to recap the waitlist, 1 person was accepted off the waitlist on May 13 and seven people were accepted off the waitlist on May 17. Also a few people were moved from the Hold list to the waitlist. There hasn't been any movement/acceptances since May 17. Does this sound right? Am I missing something?

I was waitlisted in mid-February and never received any emails from Ilana Levine about being interested in staying on waitlist. Why do they send to some waitlisters but not others? Do they only send it to those they want to admit?

no, but they'll send an email after orientation rejecting you if they choose not to accept you off the hold/alternate list. Good luck.

They sent out a batch of acceptances about 2 weeks ago and gave people 2 weeks to respond, I bet most people took almost all that time to decide (I did), so I imagine there'll be another batch going out soon if people turned them down

Long (long!) time troll here but I just wanted to return the favor and give everyone some hope! Ilana Levine just called my cell yesterday to let me know I was off the alternate list!!! I interviewed 3/3, found out I was on the alternate list 4/15 and just got accepted off it over the phone yesterday (6/3) around 11am!!

SUNY Downstate is my top choice by a mile so I am definitely accepting as soon as I get my official acceptance in writing today (I just moved into a Park Slope apt as an out of stater in case this all worked out actually! Otherwise I would have been commuting wayy up to NYMC in Valhalla!)

Best of luck to everyone!!! I really do hope you all get off the waitlist and that we all meet orientation week in a couple months!

My waitlist checklist now has the "$100 deposit due May 15" (or whatever it was called) missing. Is anyone else missing their deposit red x? What could it mean?

Prob doesn't mean anything, the list has been tinkered with everyday for the past month.

Try not to read to deeply into the checklist. The only point where it matters is when it says $100 Deposit: Pay Now, and you can actually pay the deposit. Until that point, you aren't accepted.
