SUNY Oct 15 Notification

So far, the SUNY's are the only schools that I've interviewed at who told me they'd contact us by Oct 15th. Does anyone have any idea how they'll contact us? phone...email...snail mail...?

SUNY Buffalo said they will be sending out letters at some point "as soon as they can after Oct 15th" ....I'm guessing that means it will arrive late this week or early next week.

i hope downstate and/or stony brook call me tomorrow. the whole letter thing is kind of slow

is anyone planning on calling a school tomorrow to check up on their status?

Downstate & Stony Brook don't seem to use emails too much. For interviews, I got a call and a letter respectively. I guess we won't be hearing from them tomorrow. I won't call, but if someone does, please let us know.

I think I'll resist the overwhelming urge to call tomorrow, they'll most likely be inundated with similar calls. Plus, it's likely that decisions will be physically mailed tomorrow, so I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get any word until friday. So I'd probably wait until friday to call schools I am expecting decisions from.

This thread makes me nervous. I am a NY state resident and I am on hold at Upstate and Downstate. I have heard nothing from Buffalo and Stony Brook (I think SB told me that my file was complete). I have worked in Stony Brook's hospital and HSC since highschool and I have 2 letters of recommendations from SB faculty members (I do not attend Stony Brook), yet I still have not heard from them. I have 5 interviews elsewhere, but no Stony Brook. I figured I would definitely be interviewed there. Damn you SUNYs!!

Don't worry, I haven't been to Buffalo yet. and stony brook takes some time to get back about interviews. I was just complete super early.

and my advisor's on the adcom here at stony and he talks to me about the whole process and they're waay behind. and the way he explained it, some committee members just take longer to go through files than others. don't worry too much about it and good luck

I just called SUNY Buffalo, the lady said acceptances/rejections are sent via snail mail only (didn't say anything about a phone call) and that they should go out middle of next week.

Hopefully Buffalo sends the letters out early next week.....I'd like to know before I go to my Pitt interview on Friday. And while I'm wishing, it would be nice if PSU would set a date when they're sending out notification. They're still not giving a straight answer.

Yeah...I'm with you on the PSU thing. Remember, the med student who works on the committee said we'd definitely make the 10/15 mailing, but he also said the committee hadn't met yet. That was on 9/24...I'll post if I hear anything in the next few days.

I emailed PSU and they still haven't made their decisions....I'm guessing a couple more weeks. Let me know if they tell you any differently.

Called Stony Brook today. My interviewer was late in submitting my file to adcom. I interviewed around 9/24. They said my file was coming up for review in the next 2 meeting of the adcom.

I got a call from them yesterday (10/15) and I was informed that I was accepted.

DO NOT STRESS OUT IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL
I think I was there on the second day of interviews

I called downstate yesterday. They said that they can't tell you your decision, but they can tell you if a decision has been made on your application and when it's going to be sent out.

I interviewed there on 9/4. When I called, they told me that a decision had been made on my application, and that they would be mailing it out either yesterday or today, so checking the mailbox is going to be very stressful for the next few days. 🙂
Any word from SB for you?

nope, haven't heard from Stony yet, but they mailed out acceptances yesterday. hopefully, we were in that pile.
well, i interviewed at downstate on 9/2, so hopefully i'll hear something by this weekend...
ugghhh..its so nerve wracking.
