I need some help...i have to decide which school (SUNY or UHCO) to go to by May 27th (that's when my deposit is due.) I am a Texas resident
...but I have compared the cost of living and tuition with both schools, and NY is more expensive by about $25,000. So cost is not the greatest factor.
My greatest concerns, however, are:
1) When someone goes to school in that state, do they tend to stay there? Is it easy to relocate to a different state? Harder to network? (just in case i want to relocate)
2) Is important to go to a school with a strong research background?
3) SUNY is on a quarter system. Are their loads more taxing because it goes by faster?
From what I heard, (correct me if I am wrong) UHCO has a strong research background, but it is not SUNY's strength. But SUNY has a strong clinical and so does UHCO. Therefore UHCO ranks higher than SUNY. 😕
But here's the kicker...as for city, I have always wanted to live in NY some point of my life. But, sorry to say UHCO ppl, I am not too fond of Houston.
All in all, what criterias are important to choosing the right school? Is it more important to chose a school based on reputation or city? Thanks for your input!!!
