SUNY schools

I'm a NY resident and I've applied to all the suny schools. Looking at their stats in the msar though, it's really hard to tell the hierarchy among them. So for those of you who know more, which are the better (and worse) among the sunys?

so far i've received interview invitations from buffalo and downstate 🙂 a "hold" from upstate 🙁 and have not heard from stony brook. just trying to get some perspective in the meantime.

IMHO, the hierarchy of SUNYs are:
1. Stony Brook
2. Downstate
3. Buffalo and Upstate (tie)

I would think its

1. Stony
2. Downstate
3. Upstate
4. Buffalo

So does sb have the best match program then? I have heard that downstate has a great match program for the nyc hospitals...since i would like to stay in nyc, i'm just wondering if that's true. Thanks for the responses so far.

They both have pretty awesome match lists. Stony is kinda in the middle of nowhere compared to Downstate. But the neighborhood is kinda iffy in that part of brooklyn. And Stony emphasizes research and downstate is more clinical experience.
