Suny UB, stonybrook and NYMC

First, does anyone know how many people are on UB's alternate list and where on the list they are at this point?
Secondly, I interviewed at stony brook at the end of February and still have not heard back from them, does that automatically mean a rejection?
Last but not least, I interviewed at NYMC in early May and was wandering if anyone who interviewed at that time has heard anything from them, when I checked my status on their web page it just says decision pending committee review with the date 5/16, so does that mean that we will be hearing soon?

I think I remember the admissions people at UB saying that everyone on the alternate list got in last year.

I wouldn't be too concerned about not hearing from NYMC. I interviewed there in the beginining of March and didn't hear until mid May. I'll most likely be there in the Fall.

I would only be worried about SUNY SB. Usually they are on top of things. Have you called them.
I just saying that because I got rejection letter from all the schools that I didn't hear anything from after May 15th.

I have no idea what is going on at UB. Some people told me only 2 people got into UB off the waitlist.

Don't be worried about NYMC. They are very quiet. I didn't hear anything from them until May 1st and all of a sudden an acceptance came in the mail.

I'm positive that Buffalo offered MANY more spots than two. In fact there are more than two SDNers who received offers. If you mean that two people accepted positions then this is a good thing. They should be getting to us soon enough.

i am on the alternate list at UB. It is my understanding that there is also a high priority wait list. i'm on the regular wait list. My question is has anyone heard of someone getting in off of the regular alternate list.

Thats weird that you got off the regular alt list. I called UB today and they told me that they have not yet accepted everyone off the high priority list. Hopefully they are getting into the regular list though.

There is plenty of housing in Buffalo. I live only 10 mins from the south campus and 5 mins from the North campus and there is plenty of housing.

And as long as your not a mass murdered then I will tell my parents to set you up with a place.

I interviewed with Stony Brook back in December and have yet to hear from them since then. I called last week and they said that I should call back in two weeks (which makes it a week from now) But it doesn't look good.

I emailed Mr. Rosso from Buffalo and he informed me that the alternate list was broken down in thirds - upper (high priority candidates), middle and lower. At this moment they are at the bottom of the upper list.

I accepted the offer at UB.

The letter came in the mail, and I definitely didn't think it was an acceptance. It was rejection-thin, but to my surprise...

I'm also waiting to hear from downstate and stony brook - this wait is driving me insane! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> I heard that the list is moving REALLY slow so far...partly due to the amcas delay. It's comforting to know there are others who are going through the same things I'm going through. THANKX!!!!!

im in the EXACT position you are in emma, waiting on downstate and the brook. and yes, this whole waiting thing sucks bigtime. in fact, that only way ive been able to pass the time is to start writing all of my reapplication stuff. kinda sad now that i think about it... :wink:
