SUNY Upstate Update

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I recently received an invite from Upstate. Checking my status page, the "complete" is also missing from mine. So maybe that means you'll get an interview invite?

Watch out though..the guy who calls you sort of sounds like a robot .

Where did it ever say complete?

Has anyone had a problem with their secondary not being received? I submitted mine in late August and it still was not accounted for on my status page so I e-mailed admissions and apparently it is floating in internet purgatory and their IT department is trying to retrieve it. I am so discouraged at getting behind but I also don't want to be a pain in the rear calling/e-mailing them constantly.

I haven't had a problem with the secondary being received, but I have had problems with getting them to acknowledge my LORs. They're still not posted after three weeks 🙁 Anyway, Upstate is really nice on the phone (they even told me to call back this week to follow up on my letter situation...I would've called today, but I figured I'd give them a break with the whole Oct 15th thing and all 🙄). Since your case is pretty legit, I don't think it'll be seen as annoying.

On another note, I haven't had much luck with e-mails for status checks. I sent one to Downstate asking about letters (they weren't posted there, either) and they just told me to be patient and that they would be posted soon...I called later and it turns out that they never had my letters to begin with.

Is your "status complete" thing on your status page missing?

I asked someone that got a hold and they said that their "complete" status message also is nowhere to be found. So, I'm guessing that once the admissions committee makes a decision to interview or hold, then your complete thing disappears. I'm not 100% sure though, just a guess.

I'm not sure whether the disappearance of the "complete" really means anything. I've been complete since 9/19, haven't received an interview invite or hold notification, and my status "complete" line is also missing now.....
So unless my hold letter is in the mail, it probably is just a glitch with their system.

I tend to think the disappearance of the "Status: Complete" message does mean that they have rendered some type of action. Mine disappeared a few days before I received the infamous hold letter in the mail. It would make sense that a disappearance conincides with a change in status - your status is no longer just 'complete' but their system does not displayed the new status to you because of whatever it might be.

for those that got the hold message today when where you all complete? 9/24 here and am afraid i'll be receiving it soon 🙁...

I am on hold. Since none is rejected yet, this does not look good.

I was complete on October 16, haven't heard anything yet. I'm really hoping for the phone call for an interview!

I had a complete on my status page as of yesterday and this morning. Then at work today I got a call from them for an interview!! I went and checked the status page and the complete was no longer there so maybe if it is removed then there will be a change in status upcoming. Hopefully an interview!!

still listed as "complete"....no hold, no interview, no rejection, don't know what to make of this 😕...

I don't even have a "complete" on my page, despite receiving a "complete" notice in the mail this week.
