i haven't been interviewed there yet, but just received my invitation to interview. the letter gives a run-down of the interview day:
30 min w/ Admissions Committee, then individual meeting w/ faculty member and facility tour. Housing/financial aid meeting, then lunch w/ students ending by 1:30pm

I'm also curious as to how interviews have gone for those who have already interviewed at SUNY this year....

if you dont mind, did you have really good OAT scores/GPA? i submitted to SUNY the beginning of August and haven't heard from them, except to say that they received my application. I'm starting to think they don't want me, or that they're keeping me around for later 😛
Thanks!

PS- you mentioned a letter, was this through regular mail? or e-mail?

i got the letter in the mail - and i actually got it on the same day as the letter that said they received my app, which was crazy. and i was really surprised, since my stats are not so hot.

my science gpa is terrible - 2.93 ish
overall - 3.38ish
OAT ts - 340
aa - 340
i sent in 3 LORs... and slaved over my essays. i dunno if that helped?
Good luck to you!

I got two separate letters from Suny stating they received my application, on the same day.

first of all, congrats you guys! =)

i had my interview the first week of february of last year. there was only one other person interviewing with me. it was exactly as the letter says, interview, meeting with the head of the finaid department to discuss finaid, tuition, and things like that (great time to ask questions), a tour with a faculty member, and lunch with a student.

i had 4 interviewers, all faculty members, Dr. Johnson being one of them. They were all very nice and friendly, but don't be fooled, they ask pretty tough questions. know your current events, theyre very particular on that ive noticed. they also asked me what the last fun book i read was..so read something 😉. other than that, you'll shine if u just be urself =)

the finaid session, the tour, and the lunch are self-explanatory. ask questions, they like it, ppl like talking about their schools usually; and wear comfortable shoes.

good luck everyone!

thanks so much! that was really helpful. i guess i do have some hope, my GPA is 3.3. i wonder why they don't phone call or email like the other schools, sometimes mail can be so slow! took me two weeks to get a letter once. anyway, i'll still be holding out for SUNY!

I have also only received a letter from SUNY confirming that they have received my application.

BTW, if you read this KASALAPIC, you sent me a PM, but I can't reply because it says you blocked all messages??

Well that wasn't nice Kasalapic 😉
