what do the supplemental applications entail? Do they make you type in your grades and transcripts again? whats the difference between supplemental and pharmCas?

Depends on the school. Most of time they ask you to fill out additional information such as filling a prerequisite equivalent page. Some have additional essays. Almost all of them have an additional fee lol

That may be the catch right there..

For the U of M it is $75 and the following essays that should be new (i.e. not copy-n-pastes from your PharmCAS essays):

Required Essays

  • You have already listed your leadership, volunteer, and extracurricular experiences on your PharmCAS application. Describe in the space below the contribution you made that was most meaningful to you. (Maximum 1000 characters, including spaces)
  • The profession of pharmacy is undergoing significant changes. What will be your unique role in the profession 10 years from now? (Maximum 1700 characters, including spaces)
  • Our admissions committee will consider diversity factors including but not limited to academic background, professional background, race/ethnicity, geographic diversity, first generation college student, challenging or disadvantaged background, and ability in multiple languages when making admissions decisions. Discuss how you will contribute uniquely to the diversity in the Pharm.D. program and pharmacy profession. (Maximum 1700 characters, including spaces)
  • For applicants reapplying to the PharmD. Program ONLY: Please describe how you have changed and strengthened your application to our PharmD. program. Include all relevant academic, work, volunteer, personal and pharmacy experience. (Maximum 1700 characters, including spaces)
