So I graduated in May and am now on my third week as a research fellow at a disease research laboratory for the government. My committee letter is made up of the 5 professor letters and the letter written by a committee member, but my pre-med adviser said that especially for some of the top tier schools that I'm applying to (Yale, UVA, Northwestern, Emory) an additional letter from my supervisor would be extremely beneficial to my application. The problem is that I have now only been here at the lab for 2 weeks, and although my AMCAS isn't verified yet (I submitted the 18th), I'm starting to get secondaries and was trying to figure out what to do.
On the supplementary for Yale, there is a spot for "additional documents". Is this where the letter should be submitted? Also, is it best to submit my secondaries now without the letter, and then send it along in a few weeks, or should I wait until my supervisor has had enough exposure to my work and then submit my secondaries?
Thanks for your help everyone.
