Now stop feeling sorry for yourself and fight back.
This is ridiculous. A 4th year barely knows any more than a 3rd year, and I've seen some on-the-ball 3rd years perform better than some slacker 4th years. I say get over yourself.JKP said:It's sort of an awkward position being a sub i. You're expected to teach the third years but despite your best intentions third years may be resentful being pimped by another student. In teaching third years I tend to "self-pimp," in effect answering my own questions. But if a third year starts to be rude and disrespectful I would have no qualms pimping. I wouldn't do in front of an attending, though.

I'll second that.toofache32 said:This is ridiculous. A 4th year barely knows any more than a 3rd year, and I've seen some on-the-ball 3rd years perform better than some slacker 4th years. I say get over yourself.
Just do what I did. When I was a 3rd-year med student, a 4th-year made a feeble attempt to pimp me. He asked me a question in front of the rest of the team and I said, "If you want to know, why don't you just look it up like the rest of us?"MediCane2006 said:and on top of it all pimps me in front of the chief resident and the fellow. I tried being nice, helpful, friendly, etc. during the first few days of the rotation, but this is getting out of hand.
