When I did a surgical away rotation at Penn, I stayed at the International House of Philadelphia. It is a dorm style building, not affiliated with any hospitals. Many students, including Drexel and Penn, stay there, as well as international students. It is located in 3701 chestnut street, on Penn campus, and is within walking distance to the Hospital of University of Penn and CHOP. It is fairly cheap too. I highly recommend it if you are going to do a rotation at Penn.
