Surgery to DERMA

Hi fellas..

I am a PGY2 surgery resident who wants to leave hell and enter the cozy heavens of Dermatology. Imho its highly improbable though not impossible. I have a publication on a skin pathology (basic research). Can I do the unthinkable? Any advice would be appreciated.

You need to make contacts in the field.If you have really had it with surgery start looking for research fellowships at Derm programs.If you spend a year or 2 doing this and you are liked personally then you have a good shot.Having a publication on skin pathology will help you get your foot in the door and will spark interest.Check out the ezboard on Dermatology.
