Surviving financially during Med or PA school?

Hello everyone, I am going to be applying to PA schools and I know in Pa school as with Medical school you are not allowed to work and actually make you sign a waver saying you will not do so due to the rigor of the programs. SO my question is how do you survive during PA or medical school if you cannot work? As someone who has my own place with a roommate this is kind of alarming to me seeing as that at my current job I kind of live pay check t pay check working fulltime. What resources are available or how is it done?

A physician I shadowed said that he just took out the maximum from the government and made it work with what he had left after tuition, etc. He had kids I think too.

Loans cover everything, theoretically. You can do some odd jobs and what not as well, if you have time, which you may not. My dad fixed cars while he was in school.
