Switching into Ophtho after Surg Internship

Does anyone know how competitive this is? My fiance is at a Maryland/DC program and is interested in switching into a Maryland/DC ophtho program. Thanks!

There have been a few people on this forum who have switched from a surgical internship/residency. Your fiance will have to apply through the match. Factors that are important are board scores, why your fiance is switching, and has your fiance done anything to demonstrate interest in ophthalmology. Good luck!
