Syllabus for MCAT ?

hi, just started studying for MCAT, am wondering if there are any specific topics listed anywhere which MCAT covers. i checked AAMC site but i dint find it anywhere.

Have you looked at other websites? Kaplan, Princeton Review, etc. may list chapter headings.

If you're looking for specifics, the AAMC site should list them - you can also try a Google search with the modifier "site:aamc.org."

the book "Kaplan 45" breaks down each subject on the MCAT into more specific topics and subtopics (i.e.: Bio - Nervous System - action potentials, neurotransmitters, etc.). I found it really helpful when I was studying, especially because I hadn't taken Physics yet and it really broke things down for me. I think the book was only like $30 at Borders. Good luck! 🙂

There's a document called the MCAT Interpretive Manual on the AAMC website that can be found here:

Look in the appendix for a full list.

Be careful in taking that list too much to heart. Its more a list of what could be possibly covered, as opposed to what is likely to show up. There are some topics on that list that I've never seen tested on any MCAT I took, my students took, or that the AAMC itself tests in its published practice tests, so take it with a grain of salt. More often than not a test prep book would cull together some popular knowledge of what is actually tested on the MCAT, and you can get that at BN for relatively little if all you're looking for is content review of those topics.
