I'm currently a student at the Army-Baylor DPT program so working with "tactical athletes" is going to be a big part of my future practice. Right now PT school is obviously my focus, but I've been keeping an eye on the future. For the past several years I've been looking at the Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) Cert from NSCA. It seems like a personal training cert that is geared specifically towards those working with military and first responders. I know the CSCS is the gold standard of their certifications, but this one looks interesting. It's been around for several years, but I have yet to find anyone who has it. Anyone familiar with this certification by any chance?

I think it's been around for about a decade, but I've yet to find anyone with the cert. I did find a directory on the NSCA with a handful of folks who have it. I also discovered that one of my BOLC classmates who was already a PT has it. I'm going to reach out to him and see what he thinks. I'll let you know what I find out.

I found a pretty experienced Army PT who is familiar with the both the CSCS and TSAC-F certs and he recommends just going for the CSCS. He actually specifically said the TSAC would be a step down.
