When you guest lecture in a class you're a TA for, should you list your guest lectures separately on your CV? On one hand, I can see the value in indicating the subjects that you've lectured on; otoh, I can see guest lecturing being considered an expected part of TAing.

I've always listed it separately under where I talk about TAing, specifically if it pertains to my area of research.
 
For now, I'm listing them separately. In addition (and some may think I'm going overboard), I also separately list whether I was a teaching assistant (i.e. graded exams/homework, ran discussion sections for which students essentially just had to be physically present to get full credit) or lab instructor, as the latter was pretty much its own class with a syllabus, exams, etc. that I (of course with the help of the professor) developed and executed.

I'm sure that by the time I graduate and apply for jobs, I am going to lump everything into "Teaching Assistant" and "Instructor of Record" (fingers crossed), but for now, I'm pretty comfortable with this distinction.

I list mine separately too. I also agree I might combine them once I have more experiences. 🙂

Here's the format I decided on for now (fake entries, obviously):

Teaching assistant

"Intro," XXX University, Summer 2012
Guest lecture: Behaviorism

"Developmental," XXX University, Fall 2013
Guest lectures: Intelligence, Piaget

My teaching section has already subsections for instructor of record, TA, advising,and curriculum development (e.g., helping to develop the intro curriculum for the department), so I was wary of adding another subsection.

My CV looks similar to the above. 🙂 I think the format works and conveys what you need to convey,
 
I have a section where I list courses for which I was instructor of record, a section for invited lectures (e.g., guest lectures), and a section for other miscellaneous teaching experience - the last section is where I note that I was a TA and when.

I think listing any TA experiences becomes a whole lot less important once you have been an instructor of record, regardless of how much work you did as a TA. Perhaps it could be important for getting your first adjunct position or something. But for the tenure track market, I don't think spending more than a line on your CV about being a TA is going to help you at all.
 
I'm an applicant at the moment, and I have done one guest lecture for a social worker department. I'm waffling on whether to include it under a separate heading or bundle it under my research job. I want to avoid any impression of padding, and one entry under a heading looks a bit lonely and silly to my eye.
