I withdrew from last semester with five Ws and I made a return this spring semester, being enrolled in four courses. But I'm also considering to take this semester off to get things settled and to recharge. Then I will return in September.

But my dad is opposed to it, though I convinced him about the merits of this option. He tells me to take some courses instead of not taking any altogether. His argument is that taking that much time off may induce me to become really lazy and I may end up just wasting time. Basically he insists that I lack the strong will or independence necessary to use the time productively. So he thinks it's better for me to stay in school.

Thoughts?

Well yea just make sure you keep yourself productive for a year off, because med schools will def ask what you did for one whole year you didn't go to school.
