Last semester (my first semester freshman year), I took an earth science class for a gen ed requirement. The whole class was literally about soil and complete BS so I ended up needing to pass/fail it and I passed it. Will this hurt me when applying to medical school?

Doubt it will hurt if everything else is up to snuff. But why take it pass/fail? Was that your only option? Were you concerned you might not get an A? In general, a lot of pass/fail grades don't look great on an application, and you should probably avoid them in the future unless they are truly out of the realm of a pre-med education. For example, let's say you take some boxing class for fun.

The Prince of Punnery is giving me a heart of stone, and his dirty fingerprints are all over this page! I may have to get earthy with him.

no need to sling mud about. I doubt the P/F in earth science will lead to a rocky start, nor does this poster seem to have feet of clay.
