Hi,
I was talking to a bunch of other pre-med students at my school and many said that Biochemistry could substitute for Orgo II Lab? That is, Medical Schools would count Biochemistry towards the hours needed to complete Orgo II Lab. Is there any truth to this? Thanks.

I strongly doubt that. Organic Lab doesn't really overlap with biochemistry in the sense that lab teaches you laboratory techniques such as purification, isolation, characterization, etc. Most school websites I've seen stipulate that the classes must have an accompanying lab.

The best advice I can give you is that there's definitely a question of whether biochemistry substitutes or not, so just take organic lab and dispel any doubts. You could call every school you plan to apply to, but even then your list may change once you get MCAT scores back.

SOME schools accept biochem as an alternative for orgo II; others insist on orgo II. But why limit yourself? Especially if it's just a lab.
