Hi,
so I am in Calculus I right now, and I am not liking it at all. I am struggling alot and I might end up with a C+ or B-> The thing is that calculus II is required for my major and I take it, will this be a good idea for next semester to avoid another bad grade?

Your schools allows p/f for classes required for your major? Wow that is generous.

To answer your question, though, I wouldn't do p/f for Calculus. In fact, try not to p/f any classes that are considered important/recommended by med schools.

Avoid pass fail, but you know yourself better then we do. If you can kick it gear and get a B, it will definitely look better thanp/f.

Avoid P/F at all cost. Though the letter "P" could mean anywhere from D to A, med schools would look at it more as a D or a C.

Yeah, you might want to double check this... Most schools won't allow any major coursework to be taken p/f.

A P/F class, even if you pass, is looked at like a C in the eyes of some adcoms, since that's the minimum requirement for a Pass.

If you can even get a B-, then it's better than getting a P in a course. Like the others have said, I don't think you can take any major requirements as a P/F class. You'll have to take it for a grade.

In general, avoid taking any classes that count as part of your science GPA for P/F. You don't want to give them a reason to question your ability to succeed in math/science classes.
