Hi everyone,

It seems like people are pretty split on the credibility of CC courses, doing pre-req's at a CC and transferring from a CC to a university after a year or two. I'm in a different situation though. I'm out of school right now to take care of my father (I do attend a 4-year university and am planning on going back in the spring). Would Adcoms frown on me taking a course or two at a local community college to fulfill one or two GenEd requirements while I'm home? I'm not trying to 'cop out' and take easier classes at a CC, I just thought I'd get take these to free up some room for my major when I get back to school next year. Thanks for any thoughts/advice you guys have.

Sounds legit. Go for it. You can always stick something in your personal statement about being away from school and taking care of your dad and having the time to take some cc classes on the side to keep your academic skills sharp.
