Hi,

I will be graduating this spring in something that is not related to science. I still need to take biology and o chem. Getting back into my 4 year will be hard in order to finish off the prereqs. I know that some schools only take prereqs from 4 year schools, but the college I am looking into is switching to offer four year degrees but not entirely. They are no longer a "community college", however even when talking to them they said it was a gray area. Has anyone been in a similar situation? If I do get back into my school then I won't be able to register for classes until the first day of the quarter...and by then they are normally already full. Thoughts?

If I understand you're asking how it will be perceived by the admissions board?

First, call and ask the schools. A 5 minute call will get you the info right from the horses mouth.

Now, for my side of it. There are a ton of factors. How strong is your overall application? If you are barely sneaking by and would be an on the bubble candidate it could make a big deal. If you dominated the OAT, have a great pre-req and overall GPA, and good ECs then it doesn't matter so much. Have you just considered delaying your graduation? I mean unless they are giving you the boot (or tuition is absurd) then just wait to graduate. Another idea is my case. I'm walking in my graduation ceremony in April (will have all my bachelors work done), but I'm not applying to get my official diploma until the end of the summer since I'm going to be taking 2 pre-req courses over the summer. This way I can avoid paying graduate tuition. This just works out for me b/c I want to walk, my unversity has the policy to walk 1 semester+/- your actual graduation semester, and I don't want to pay higher tuition or go to another school.
